Adult Day Program

The Adult Day Program is an educational and social/recreation program for adults with disabilities. The program facilitator offers an environment that promotes making friends and building life skills. Topics of discussion include restful sleep, nutrition, communication, and emotional regulation etc.

Recreational activities include picnics, walks, scavenger hunts, crafts, and games as well as outings in the community. The program is tailored to the needs and preferences of those in attendance.

Private support workers are welcome for those who require them. Opal Family Services also provides support workers to those in need.

Cost of Program:

Program fee: $20/session

Support worker fee: $22.60/hour (if needed)

Transportation fee: $10/day

The 2024/2025 program schedule is: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 9-12 AM.

Adult Drop In

Opal staff and volunteers facilitate a weekly Adult Drop In program for adults with disabilities. This program is focused on recreation and social connection. Activities includes dances, physical fitness activities, and games. The goal is to improve mental, social, and physical wellbeing while promoting positive friendships. Adults with disabilities are underrepresented in the workplace and often face bullying, and social isolation. This program offers opportunities for social connection in an inclusive environment.

Cost of Program:

Drop in fee: $5

The 2024/2025 schedule is: Thursday evenings from 6-8 PM.
